I have always suffered from itchy scalp and i especially remember getting itchy temples in my mid 20's when ever i was to wear a woolly hat at work, i also get itchy scalp when ever the room temperature changes (gets hot) or if i don't wash my hair for two days. The doctor proscribed me Nizorel years ago and i went from using it every other day to on and off over the past 3 or 5 years. Now i only use it once a week. Anyway..
This last 5 months i have changed my hairstyle from a short spiky front crop to a side parting but averagely long (like Ryan Gosling's hair in Drive) i noticed that when i was parting the front my hair was showing more forehead than i wanted so i changed which side i was parting. After a few months of being happy some days with it and other days not so happy i decided its due to hair loss. My temples have receding evidence but i don't have any bald spots. This last year i have also become separated from a long term relationship, had major changes with my job and had to move back home so I'm starting to wonder if its stress related?
Yesterday i went to the Belgravia Centre and had a free consultation where the lady told me i have male pattern thinning in the middle top part of my head and the receding areas. She recommends i go on the following treatment.
Propecia + Minox 8% + Minox 8% (16%) at a huge price of £1791.20
On my way home i was happy. They had told me that i still have over 75% of my hair left and that my front receding line was not dead and so new hair would grow in time with the treatment. She had told me about side effects but i will say they didn't mention all of what i have seen from staying up half the night on youtube and google
My question is for anyone with positive results. Should i risk Propecia or try other things first? Will Nizorel cause more damage to my thinning hair or should i just save for a transplant.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm going crazy and feel terrible.... Not sure if i should throw this Nizorel out either?
