Hi Kate

I did lots of research on getting hair extensions or an integrated system. I did not want a wig!!!! I can only say that I am really happy with the Intralace system I had done at Lucinda Ellery so you should consider contacting them. I had a few bad experiences in terms of other consultations I went to - watch out for the killer sales technique!!! I went with Lucinda Ellery as they were not pushy and I saw other women in the studio when I went so I knew that things looked really natural. they do extensions too. you would have to see them for a consultation. I had to wait a few weeks for the consultation so bear this in mind. I went to a trichologist before I decided to have the system to check what my options were. They said it was genetic and said I should explore a hair system. They were very diplomatic but did steer me towards ellery in terms of getting something that looked natural. Maybe you should arrange a few consultations, don't commit to anything and then when you have seen them all you can make your own mind up.
Good luck!!!

Hi
I feel very condient that mine looks natural. I went to a local shop the other day and the lady there asked if I had just been to the hair dresser. i still get nervous when someone mentions my hair but that is from a life time of having crap hair so I said to her no I haven't been to the hair dresser but had just washed and blow dried my hair at home and she said I must be very good with hair cause it looked great. I was so chuffed and I knew she was being genuine - she kind of looked jealous!!!
You have to use conditioner when you wash your hair and it looks great when you spend the time doing a proper blow dry but if i am lazy I just rough dry it and then use straightening irons. I feel the most glamourous when I blow dry it though. You still wake up with bed hair though so its not a miralce in terms of never having to work at your hair - you had to put the time in to get the benefits. I choose to have the parting with the natural hair line front as I had no hair at the front so that parting was an option for me which means that if the wind blows it just looks like its my own hair. I saw clients at my last appointmentt that have the other style partings and their hair looked natural but I am not sure what happens when the wind blows???
Best of luck ;)

Hi

Thanks for this, I feel a bit more confident of having it done now.

On the one hand I don't really have an option as my hair is very thin and falling out, so anything will look better than what I have now, but on the other hand I have been reading some of the horror stories and just afraid something may go dreadfully wrong!!

I am due to go on holiday later this year to South of France, love the beach so just a bit worried about the sand, as we know it gets everywhere!!

Will keep you informed.

Hi carolcourt
Just been reading the threads on the integration systems, I would advise you to really look into this type of system< my friend had one from lucinder ellery, it was so thick and heavy the so called parting was so un natural, if you are planning a holiday abroad it will be very hot under all that hair, each to their own but after seeing my friends i would never consider having one.
have you considered a partial lace system, very natural, light to wear and no expensive maintenence costs, and of course there's the cost, mine cost me £300

Hi Dawn

Thanks for this, I was about to book it today!!

Where did you get your partial lace system done? This is the problem I have is knowing where to go for the best, I only know of LE in London, Manchester and Liverpool are out for me!!

Do you have a hair loss problem or just very thin hair?

Hi Carolcourt
I have androgenetic alopecia (male pattern loss) the main loss is the crown and front but my hair is thin all over, the piece covers the top and then it blends with my own hair giving a very natural look, I have a silk top which gives a very natural parting.
check out www.womenshairsos.co.uk
I'll be happy to talk to you if you want to know more.

Hi Dawn

Have taken a look at this site it looks really good, the only thing that worries me is they seem to have to shave your head, and they use glue to stick it on, is this correct? I don't thing LE fix it like this does she?

Sorry for all the questions but it is such a big step I just want to get it right!!

Has anyone else used this method? I think it is called the MIRAGE system!

I may take you up on your offer of a discussion, but work in an all male office apart from me, and don't like to bother people in the evenings!!

Hi carolcourt
I'll be happy to speak to you any time, I know from my own experiences how important it is to have support in these decisions.
I wore my system over my hair for the first 6 months untill I was comfortable with the fact that it was going to be a long term option, it was then i desided to cut my hair down on the top, it does not have to be shaved if you prefer you can cut it shorter. i have a good bond with tape which allows me to get on with more important things than worrying about my hair loss.

2 of my friends had integrated systems from Lucina they will be able to tell you all about the attachment etc.
if you give me your email address i can pass it on.
i really think you should speak to them b4 making a decision to go to LE and wasting your money

Hi Dawn

Thanks for this.

Would love to hear about their experiences. Not sure about putting email address on here though, what do you suggest.
