Hair Transplant Removal Advise - Please help!!

Postby Skipper1 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:10 am

Hi. In 2006 I lost the plot and decided I wanted a small hair transplant to even out my frontal hairline. I have/had a large 'cows lick' meaning my fringe was/is lopsided.
I bitterly regret this decision and desperately wish to find out how best to have the transplanted hairs (around 700 by incisional slit) removed (if possible). I never liked the fact that the hairs look unnatural (doll head like) and also feel a little uncomfortable.
Can anybody please advise me on who could help or could be recommended to contact as I would so badly like to reverse this as best as possible. Nobel clinic would performed the procedure are no longer trading and the new company are not contactable it would appear!
I have often shaved the recipient area and could easily live with the very small bobbles that are barely noticeable if the hairs could be taken out. I am absolutely terrified though of making matters worse and causing more problems with further surgery....

thanks so much for any advise....

Hi Skipper, sorry to hear about your bad hair transplant experience. I am a hair transplant surgeon so it is always disappointing to hear about bad work. I would suggest the following -

1. Look into laser hair removal, but check they are using a small beam and are able to precisely remove the implanted hairs without damaging your own natural hairs. You could also try and find someone doing the old technique of electrolysis hair removal as this may be able to more precisely remove the hairs.

2. If that doesn't work you could have the implanted hairs surgically removed by another hair transplant surgeon, but check they have experience in this.

3. Finally you could have more hairs implanted around the badly transplanted hairs to hide them. The FUE technique is probably a good option for this as you would need a relatively small number of hairs.

Best of luck
