hair integration

Postby pollyanna » Wed May 13, 2009 12:44 pm

Hi
I am extremely new to forums but not to hair loss. I am a female who has been suffering with female pattern baldness for about 15 years or so. Like many others I have tried all of the topical treatments and spent the money too!!! ALso tried nourkrin. For me nothing has worked. I am now of the opinion to forget trying to restore/regrow my own and look at a more cosmetic approach. When I was visiting a London salon it was a pain having to travel and spend hours with them - at that time I didn't have a family so could afford the time but now there is no chance. I have been looking at the hair integration system - as seen I believe on 10 years younger. I have visited a local salon and was quite impressed with what they could do for me - they discussed both hair integration and micro beading??? My only concern was when they said that I woud have to have part of the crown shaved to attach!!! Not sure that I am ready for that. Has anyone heard of these systems and had any experience please. Also anyone ever used the Hair Care Studio in Bedford and has any comments?
Thanks.

you are suffering from baldness, i think may be you can try some home remedies for your hair, it could be of help. but any ways it wll not have any hair loss so u need not worry abt it. still if the problem is thr th u should consult a professionalist.

Hi Pollyanna,

Glad to see you've had lots of help from other people here  . Never mind I'll give it a go, hope I can be more use.

Never been to Bradford so I can't help there, but in terms of concealment products there are ways if you aren't ready to have your crown shaved. (Something I've never heard of before by the way, sounds a strange idea?)

Dermmatch is what I personally prefer, I bought a couple of concealment products to try all at once - Couvre, Prothik, Haircubed & Dermmatch. Of all of these Dermmatch is te only one I'd recommend, the sprays are messy and don't look natural, and Couvre gives a good result but is SO hard to apply, you'll need to repaint you bathroom daily it's awful.
Other people reccomend fibre products like Nanogen, never tried them myself as I've been happy with dermmatch.

So if you're not ready for a hair integrations sytem or similar I'd recommend that, if you don't want to go down that route there are loads of lace wigs, toppers etc specially designed for women, and I've not heard of the head-shaving thing being necessary with them.

Good luck, let us know what works for you if you try anything!

Hi, I recently visit Lucinda Ellery in London for a consultation re hair integration, I found them to be quite expensive, I thinking of visiting Hair Solved, would appreciate it, if someone who has been to them can let me know how they found their service and what it is really like to wear a hair intergration piece. I'm still losing my hair at the moment and I do not know how much hair is suitable for this type of system.

Hi
Its some time since I was on this forum, I have recently taken the plunge and a week ago had a system fitted. I think its called a lace topper - anyhow its still early days and I have had some good and some bad days with it but on the whole I am really happy. I have had it beaded on with micro-beads rather than stuck on or whatever the other methods are. I didn't want to go down the route of having my fringe shaved to fix it on but now am not totally sure I am happy with the front piece as I feel when I look really closely that I can see it and the beads too - everyone else tells me they can't but I guess I have to feel happy with it to be convinced. I go back on Thursday to see how I am getting on so will discuss this then. I have only told my hubby, mum and friend that its a topper/hair piece system - everyone else thinks I have just had extensions added - some don't even know that and just think I have a new hairstyle which is really encouraging! I have been swimming once - need to get out of the mentality of not getting my hair wet though as I have been like that for years - I did get it very splashed but still not happy to put my whole head under. My daughter was so thrilled as "mummy doesn't usually come swimming with us". We even went to the cafe and tesco afterwards which is something I would never have done before if my hair had got wet! I have also been roller blading at a rink with my daughter and had to wear a helmet - usually I would make an excuse and get out of it but this time I bit the bullet and did it - daughter absolutely thrilled and hair looked great when the helmet was taken off!
Strangely enough if I have any complaint it is that the hair is quite thick and I feel a little needs to be thinned out but again this may just be me getting used to it. If I am totally homest I can feel the piece on my head but sometimes forget its there - sleeping can take some getting used to but again its just having the confidence to know that really its not going to come off or pull off if I have a rough night! I guess I will always explore other methods and would just like a completley natural feeling head of hair but so far I am please that I have taken the plunge.

I am having the intralace system next month and would like to speak to other women who have undergone this treatment, and would appreciate the negative and positive responses.

Hi
This is my first post and felt that I wanted to add my experience. I have had the same problems with hairloss and the lengths you go to trying to conceal it. I have recently...2 days ago... had my first hair integration system fitted at Hair Solved in Manchester.
Cost is £1500 for a full mesh and it's shoulder length. I would recommend going and seeing them to get a feel of the place and what they can do...it's a free consultation, so nothing to loose except transport costs.
You need to be prepared that it is scarey to start with...all this hair, and I must admit, I'm still not 100% happy as it does feel like a hat on.
Today I went out to town with a hat on, and was able to take it off in public when I went for a coffee!!! Never been able to do that before!!!
It was a bit of a shocker for the husband, and he is not happy with the change. Friends have been great and my long suffering hairdresser has been so supportive. It is costly, but you need to factor that in, but the girls, especially Natalie, are all there for you and Luca is relaxed on payment schemes (unlike some other places).
