hi
i am new to this site, about 10 years ago i suffered an extreme allergic reaction to hair dye resluting in alopecia, i have a large area on the back of my head, luckily its on the crown so i can disguise it by wearing my hair in a ponytail, howver it still looks quite thin.

i am now sick of wearing my hair in a pontail, and want my full head of hair back.
i have looked at a few sites about hair replacement treatmemnts such as the interlace system but its all new to me. i am very hair sore and dont like the idea of hair extensions with big blobs of glue in my hair!
has anyone had this procedure? realistically how often do you have to have it maintained? and how much is it?
can anyone recommend a good practitioner?

many thanks
Keller

If you have thinning hair but don't want to spend lots of money at once, and don't want high maintenance, there are hair concealers available that can do the job.

I use dermmatch which is like a dye for you scalp, and works pretty well although in bright llight sometimes it doesn't look perfect.

I've also just discovered something called Nanogen, some kind of powder that actually thickens hair rather than dyeing your scalp. The video I saw looks great but apparently it washes off, I'd kind of like it to be waterproof, but if that isn't important to you it might be worth a try?

Yes, hair concealers can be used but it is necessary that it should not be used for a long time. it is always better that you should consult a good doctor who wil tell you the best medications that you can take to overcome this problem.

I understand your problem about hair loss in some particular area of head ! as you used the hair extension for this to cover up but I guess it's not the permanent solutions of it I would say to get hair transplant surgery from
an experince and specialist.
