I'm sorry but I can't really include pictures of me as over the last 8 months my hair hasn't changed- it looks exactly the same.

BUT this is a good thing, as previously I was losing hair at a disturbing rate, since starting Finasteride that has stopped, and Dermmatch covers much of the thinning problem, especially at my crown.

I'd reccomend Finasteride to anyone really, it's been great and I haven't had any side-effects

According to me it is better to get some meds that will be helpful in avoiding any problem that are related to the hair loss or by taking any other provision that will be really helpful.

By this you can be successful enough to get over this problem.

Thanks

I'm 40 and have a hair loss problem since last 5 yrs. I tried many drugs, shampoos, gels and creams and finally Propecia Finasteride worked for me. Generic Propecia contains the active ingredient Finasteride, a type II 5-alpha reductase drug that restricts the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. It certainly has some side effects. I too had experienced side effect like decreasing sexual desire in the beginning but as my body got used to it slowly, the side effect disappeared.

After year and a half, today I am satisfied with the result.

I have been reading some of the posts on this forum, and frankly most of them are a load of rubbish and unable to substantiate.

Most of the people that claim to have a treatment for hair loss have posted no proof whatsoever, and have tried to put a link to some website....sales people I tell myself.

Regaine was reported to have wonderful effects, but I have never found anybody who has had any good results.
Propecia came next, and there are still all these wonderful medical papers that show results in so many %, but once again I have never found anyone to my knowledge that has grown hair back.

The rest of the idiots, rub their heads, try shampoos, saw palmento (or whatever it is called) and generally waste their money, on herbs and other such rubbish, when there is NO medical proof. Even with Regaine and Propecia, the medical proof is very doubtful.

COME ON, SHOW US YUR PICTURES!

You may have seen my post in this forum under 'Other Hairloss Treatments about UK product 'Hairsense'... I posted this because I'd seen a posting called <b>"Making 21st Century Sense About Hair Loss"</b> which contained a great success story BUT without any references to a product. By chance yesterday I got an update from a blog that I have been following as part of my plan to change product (after being loyal to another product that showed fruitless results). The success story is a bit comprehensive to post it all but here is the saliant part.

"[...] I cannot say for sure exactly how much I wasted on the global world of hair loss products but I know it was somewhere between £15-20k. I know. It’s shocking. It feels like I tried almost every latest product and gadget that came available. I can’t believe I found time for any other activity; in hindsight I was always treating my hair fall.

After searching the world over (via the internet) incredibly and ironically it was a product that is manufactured just across the Pennines that reversed my hair loss. In less than 11 weeks I saw my own first green shoots of hope. Hope indeed was the always soil of my hair loss. My cost of eventual ‘success’ was negligible. The product that is most effective has a relatively low cost but high return."

---Success Story---

Hi All,

I'm 25 years old and for the past few years my hair has been slowly falling out. It got to the point where if I use gel/wax to to style my hair you could see my scalp very clearly. Not a good look. I knew if I didn't do something about it now, a few years down the line and it would really be a problem.

I did some research, and it seemed Regaine was my best bet. Before you ask, no, I'm not a Regaine sales agent. Or have I raised your suspicion by saying that? lol ; )

Anyway, like all of you I wasn't convinced this was going to work. They say it only works for 3/5 men. Great.... If your product is so good, why not all of us? However, I had to try, so I paid the £70 for the 3 months supply and hoped for the best.

This is what I did:

1. Started using Regaine every morning/evening. Religiously.
2. Guidelines say 3 squirts around the head every time. Not exactly enough to apply all around the scalp, so what I did was tilt my head back and squirted 3 times across the hairline on my forehead. (middle and sides) This way, the liquid will dribble back onto the rest of my head, leaving a trail of regaine which I could then spread around with my fingers.
3. Followed this for the 1st month and realized that I had quite a bit left in the bottle by the end of the month. So I started squirting 5 times across the forehead.
4. I also tried to eat as much protein as possible. Soy beans, milk, eggs, anything like that. Not sure if it helped, but again, it was worth a try. (didn't follow this religiously)
5. Silly as it sounds, I try to give myself a small head massage everytime I wash my hair. Apparently it increase blood flow to the hair folicles. (anything that might help....)

Results:

2 and a half months in, and my hair is slightly thicker. It's definitely working. My hair isn't falling out as much everytime I shower and my hair line is improving. What I mean is the hairline in the top left/right corners of my forehead had started to recede but it looks like they're growing back. Not loads, just a tiny bit.

Definitely going to carry on using Regaine. Fortunately, it's working for me. It takes at least 2 months before you see any difference, and even then, you have to really look. So don't expect quick results.

---Notes---

- It's probably working for me because I've started treating it before it got really bad.
- There's one SIDE EFFECT for me, and that's itching. My scalp is a little itchy every now and again, but it's tolerable. If it get's worse, I'll start using those shampoos for itchy scalps. (like T-Gel)
- Don't know if it will work on bald patches. It's starting to fix my mildy receding hairline, but again, maybe it's because I acted quickly on this... not sure.

I've taken a picture of my hairline about a month back, hopefully, in a couple of months, improvements will be visible so that I can post a "before and after" image.

Good luck to you all!

Nick

There are a few alternative options.

one of which inhibits DHT and Estradiol conversion

How do I send a private message on the forum?

Thanks

If this topic is still open (I noticed the last entry was over a year ago), I can tell you that I have used a few products with varying degrees of success.

First I tried minoxidil but that didn't help and made me feel very tired and I also tried nizoral but that had awful side effects worse than some people have with Propecia (which I haven't tried).

I was asked to try the Bonacure hair loss shampoo by my hairdresser and that did nothing, but the two products I have found really made a difference were the American Crew Revitalise and ProFusion products. In both cases they did a good job stopping the hair loss and it really hasn't got any worse for two years. And they are both just a shampoo and a conditioner.

I have also heard that it is worth taking iron tablets, this doesn't make your hair regrow, but any iron deficiency will make the hair loss worse.

8-) reeeaaaaadddd this My brother found a product that claims getting your hair back whithin 4 weeks to 3 months. it was not expensive to try, only £10 for 1 months treatment.
My brother did not see any results so he gave it to me, I have a very thin hair and damaged ends because of my colouring, i like maintaining a platine blond hair tint.
Anyway, i started using it to see if it wokrs on me, like 2 3 weeks later my hairdresser asked me why my hair was feeling so healthy, i did not say nothing straight away, i ordered another bottle and used it for an extra 6 weeks and because of my short hair new ends reached the old ones quickly, it was amazing at first, i could not belive it, so my brother started using it again and my dad also, my hairdressert is selling it in her beauty salon.
it is herbal, cheap and effective.
my brother has been using it for 6 months now and all the patches has desapeared it took him more than 3 months to see a results but it usually work after few weeks.
I hope it will work for you Chears
