Telogen effluvium? Please help?

I am a healthy 33 yr old woman. In around April my very thick curly hair seemingly started shedding crazy amounts daily and handfuls whilst washing. I quickly noticed the frontal area started receding and the temples started balding. I had this same issue after the birth of both my girls but it did correct itself within around 3/4 months and grew back quickly. This however is not...it seems to keep going and going and I'm at my wits end and no one seems to really take me seriously!

I've seen my go who did numerous blood tests which all came back normal apart from a slightly lower end ferritin level. I was then referred to a dermatologist who checked the health of my scalp and finally made the connection that the loss may have been quick started by coming off birth control (cerazette) 2 months earlier and he explained TE hairless to me and told me not to worry that it would correct itself. I went to see Trichologist who put me on a course of vitamins to support regrowth (magnesium, vitamin B. lysine, vitamin D).

This was around 4 months ago and I feel like I'm going a little mad obsessing about it! Because I have had such enormously thick hair all my life the effects of losing it up until now have not been noticeable to everyone but I am really starting to see the effects now and feel it. The hair does seem to be regrowing around the temples and front but it still seems to be shedding at the same time and I'm even losing short hairs (presumably the newer growth) which all have white bulbs attached.

My worst symptom though is the scalp pain (like I've had my hair pulled up too tightly), itching and crawly feeling. The dr says its psychosomatic but to me it's very real and sore! I'm sure it's associated but can't determine if it's related to loss or growth.

I feel like I'm going mad with it all....I am desperate to know that there is an end and it will stop totally? My curly locks have been my crowning glory for ever and I can't bare seeing it slowly diminishing. I come from a family of thick hair so it's defo not a heredity thing. The dr says I must have faith and be patient but I just don't know...

Any help, support or encouragement appreciate or any advice how to help the discomfort or aid the regrowth...

Thanks
